Dear Teachers,

 

 

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year. I am excited to start my fifth year of technology coaching as well as working with many of you. 

 

This year, as we move forward, we have four technology goals that we would like to focus on for content and instruction.

 

​

• digital platforms: Use digital platforms in K-4, such as Google Classroom or Seesaw to communicate and collaborate with their teachers and peers.

​

• digital reading and writing: Interacting with digital text while reading and providing students opportunities to write digitally are important skills for students to develop in grades K-4. Throughout this year, I will be sharing digital reading and writing tools that will help leverage student learning.

​

• creation tools: Providing students the ability to create empowers and engages students. Creation also strengthens their higher-level thinking skills as they have more voice and choice to demonstrate learning.

​

• STEAM is an approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points to guide student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. Students learn to take thoughtful risks, engage in experiential learning, persist in problem-solving, embrace collaboration, and work through the creative process.
