A shout out to Tony Orzel, a science teacher at Hoover Elementary, for starting a robotics

club at Hoover Elementary for fourth grade students. During the four week session, students used problem solving skills, close reading skills, sequencing, and trial and error (just to name a few) to build robots with Lego® Wedo's 2.0.

Through hands on experimentation and investigation, Lego® Wedo's offer a way for students to build, create, and modify real world projects that are highly engaging and support inquiry. After their robots are built, they have to think through each tiny movement for the robot requiring duration, sequence, and spatial reasoning.

The good news is that all of our elementary schools have these kits in the science rooms for third and fourth grade students. It is my goal to get clubs up and running in each building this spring with the help of tech leaders in each building. Stay tuned!
